**Taboos (2017) | Kathmandu Films**

Taboos is a socially impactful documentary project filmed in 2017 by Kathmandu Films in collaboration with TV5. The project explores sensitive and often overlooked issues such as menstruation stigma and caste discrimination, bringing forward real stories that reflect the challenges faced by many in everyday life.

Approaching these subjects required careful research, ethical storytelling, and a high level of sensitivity. The team invested significant time in building trust with participants, ensuring they felt comfortable and respected while sharing personal experiences on camera. This approach allowed the film to present authentic voices while maintaining dignity and responsibility in storytelling.

Chandan Jha and Kathmandu Films worked across roles including Producer, Line Producer, and Fixer, managing research, filming permits, location coordination, crew, logistics, and full production execution. The project demanded a thoughtful balance between creative direction and cultural awareness.

The final film was well received, with TV5 appreciating the handling of such delicate subjects and the quality of execution.
