**Discovery Channel Documentary Series (2009–2014) | Kathmandu Films**

From 2009 to 2014, Kathmandu Films collaborated with Discovery Channel on an extensive documentary series spanning more than 15 episodes filmed across Nepal and India. The project focused on uncovering unique, lesser-known, and often shocking real-life stories, featuring diverse human profiles and extraordinary situations that offered compelling and thought-provoking content for global audiences.

This long-term engagement involved deep research, field investigation, and profile identification across varied regions and communities. The subject matter required careful selection, cultural understanding, and a strong editorial approach to ensure authenticity and impact in storytelling.

Chandan Jha worked as Fixer in Nepal throughout the series, leading research, local coordination, and access management. Kathmandu Films supported the production with comprehensive fixing services including permits, logistics, location scouting, and on-ground execution. The project also involved collaboration with internationally recognized directors and cinematographers, maintaining high production standards across all episodes.

One of the key challenges was identifying strong and credible profiles within complex social environments. This required persistence, local insight, and effective communication to build trust and secure participation. Through strategic problem-solving and field expertise, the team successfully delivered multiple episodes.

This multi-year, multi-episode collaboration highlights Kathmandu Films’ strength in research-driven documentary production, demonstrating reliability, adaptability, and deep local expertise in handling complex international projects.
